Over his 40 years in the business, Hard Carneling has witnessed the progression from mechanics to electronics. He is a production engineer at Flodafors Lego, where he has worked for five years. Production development is something that interests him a great deal. “Today we’re more likely to produce a larger part of the products than we used to,” says Hard. “What may once have been limited to the manufacture of the circuit board has developed into larger units, with the assembly of electronics, mechanics and cabling, what we in the industry call Box-build. Flodafors Lego’s aim has always been to solve the customer’s problem. The consignments can now go direct to the orderer’s customer, which makes quality assurance particularly important.”

Box-build – The assembly of devices containing electronics in some form of shell, cover or box. Flodafors Lego also assembles smaller, more complex devices, some with complicated mechanics and some with complicated electronics.
